Starring actress Yang Zi and actor Li Xian, the drama showcases the gardens, architecture, and traditional attire of the Tang Dynasty, allowing viewers to experience the beauty of Chinese culture. Through its storyline, the drama not only provides a deep understanding of the historical origins and cultural values of peonies but also promotes the growth of the peony industry in real life.
During the series’ broadcast, many cities across China experienced a surge in sales at peony plantations and flower markets, China Daily reported. Zhao Wenshuang, the secretary-general of the Peony Industry Association in the Mudan district of Heze city, Shandong province, noted that due to the show’s popularity, the peak sales period for peonies in Heze arrived three days earlier this year, with sales expected to increase by one-third compared to the same period in previous years.
The series has also premiered internationally, with widespread distribution on video platforms, reaching 73 countries and regions, including the United States, France, Spain, and Portugal.
