Then came an unexpected revelation. Tencent News reported that on October 5, 2020, Miles Wei publicly declared himself single. The timing was particularly striking, as the announcement came just one day after what would have been his wedding anniversary. This statement reignited public speculation about the state of his marriage.
The wedding video itself offers a poignant glimpse into their past. In the footage, Miles can be heard saying, “Six years ago, I met a freshman girl. Even though her appearance wasn’t stunning, her extraordinary personality captivated me completely.”

He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Wang Xiaolan for standing by his side, sharing a modest 30-square-meter apartment, supporting him while he searched for a job, and eventually witnessing his entry into the entertainment industry.
Wang Xiaolan was visibly moved by Miles’ vows. When it came time for her to speak, her voice trembled with emotion. “Besides receiving my university diploma, one of the greatest blessings in my life is meeting you… I’m so grateful that we’ve grown from wearing school uniforms to wedding attire,” she said tearfully.
Broken Promises
But five years later, the promises they made on their wedding day seemed to have dissolved. Their dream of building a family with two children became nothing more than a distant wish.
Was their separation connected to the pressures of Miles’ rising career in the entertainment industry? Or were there other factors at play behind closed doors?
To this day, neither Miles nor Wang Xiaolan has publicly discussed the reasons behind their rumored divorce. What remains are fragments of a love story that once captivated those who watched their wedding video—the touching vows, the laughter, and the tears—now shadowed by unanswered questions.
