Recently, Zhang Linghe was interviewed by Sina News to discuss his new drama with Tian Xiwei, “Chasing Jade.” During the interview, he revealed that he has been watching “Flourished Peony.” “I hope to collaborate with strong stars like Yang Zi,” he stated.
Zhang Linghe’s comments caught the attention of netizens in China, especially since “Flourished Peony” is airing alongside “Moonlight Mystique,” starring Bai Lu. His focus on Yang Zi’s drama while not mentioning Bai Lu’s is seen as an effort to avoid rumors. Zhang Linghe and Bai Lu were previously rumored to be in a romantic relationship after being paired in the drama “Story of Kunning Palace.”
In the interview, Zhang Linghe also talked about his dramas with Tian Xiwei in “Chasing Jade” and with Zhao Jinmai in “Our Generation.” When asked how it felt to shoot “Chasing Jade,” he shared that filming the drama was familiar to him since he was back in Hengdian after a year.
He mentioned that he is portraying a general for the first time in this drama. “This drama is very special to me because I’ve never played a general before. This character is something I’ve never tried. Additionally, for you (the audience), this is my first collaboration with Xiao Tian (Tian Xiwei),” he said.
He briefly discussed the relationship between his character and Tian Xiwei’s character, noting that her character is more dominant. In contrast, in “Our Generation,” where he stars alongside Zhao Jinmai, their characters have a more balanced dynamic.
