LayarHijau– The historical drama The First Jasmine, starring Cheng Lei and Bai Lu, has officially wrapped up its run. During the broadcast period, Cheng Lei achieved remarkable success, gaining over 500,000 new followers and securing the top spot for follower growth in August.
In the drama, Cheng Lei portrays Mo Xiu Yao, a prince who is paralyzed in both legs. For the first 18 episodes, he had to act while confined to a wheelchair. Cheng Lei revealed that performing in a wheelchair was far from easy.

“Due to the limitations in body language, acting became much more exhausting,” Cheng Lei shared. Despite the challenges, his dedication to portraying a character with disabilities in the early episodes earned high praise from viewers, reflected in his follower surge of 540,000 during the drama’s run.
Audiences particularly appreciated Cheng Lei’s commitment to the demanding role. He successfully conveyed Mo Xiu Yao’s emotions solely through facial expressions and upper body movements, without relying on full body language.
Meanwhile, in his wrap-up post for the drama, Cheng Lei shared nine photos that predominantly featured himself. This caught the attention of netizens who compared it to his wrap-up post for his previous drama, How Dare You!?, where he shared many photos with his co-star Wang Churan.
Cheng Lei’s rising popularity demonstrates that his dedication and acting quality are increasingly recognized by the public. He successfully brought the challenging role of a disabled prince to life, proving his abilities as an actor who continues to grow.
