LayarHijau – Lin Muran is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about young actors in China after his popularity surged thanks to his role in Pursuit of Jade (逐玉). The 20-year-old star gained around 1.6 million new followers, making him one of the supporting actors with the fastest fan growth. With that momentum, his upcoming projects have drawn major attention, including the costume drama Mo Li (莫离), where he stars alongside Bai Lu and Cheng Lei.
In Mo Li, Lin Muran plays Han Mingxi, an assassin who secretly harbors feelings for the female lead Ye Li (Bai Lu). The role offers a striking contrast to his previous characters. Based on released stills and teasers, Han Mingxi appears in simple attire—plain robes, neatly tied hair, and often wearing a bamboo hat—giving off a calm and understated presence.

Despite his cold and decisive nature as a killer, Han Mingxi reveals a completely different side when it comes to Ye Li. In one widely discussed leaked scene, he stands behind her, about to fix her hair ornament. His hand lifts slightly, only to retreat the moment she turns around, as if afraid of exposing his feelings. That restrained yet deeply emotional gaze has already left viewers swooning, even before the drama’s official release.

His interactions with Bai Lu carry a strong sense of unrequited love, creating a bittersweet emotional tension. While he remains ruthless in his missions, his expression softens instantly in Ye Li’s presence, adding layers to his character.
Aside from Mo Li, Lin Muran is also set to appear in the costume drama Wan Gu Zui Qiang Zong (万古最强宗), starring Peng Yuchang and Wan Peng, where he again takes on a second male lead role.
His rising fame can be traced back to his performance as Sui Yuanqing in Pursuit of Jade, starring Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei. Initially introduced as a ruthless antagonist—killing indiscriminately and repeatedly harassing the female lead Fan Changyu (Tian Xiwei)—his character drew strong backlash from viewers.
However, as the story unfolded, Sui Yuanqing’s tragic past came to light. Raised under the pressure of defeating Marquis Wu’an, he developed a cold and unstable personality. Despite this, he deeply respected his older brother, Sui Yuanhuai (played by Deng Kai).
In a devastating twist, everything he believed in turned out to be a lie. His parents were killed by his own brother, and he ultimately met the same fate. This heartbreaking ending shifted audience perception—from hatred to sympathy—turning him into one of the most emotionally impactful characters in the drama.
The role showcased Lin Muran’s impressive acting depth, especially considering his young age. Having started his career as a child actor at just one year old, he brings a level of emotional nuance that stands out among his peers.
Now, with a growing reputation for portraying both dark and emotionally layered characters, along with a softer, more restrained role in Mo Li, Lin Muran is solidifying his place as one of the most promising rising stars to watch.
