LayarHijau – A brief and seemingly simple moment on a variety show has turned into one of the most talked-about topics in Chinese entertainment. Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei, who appeared together on the spring party special episode of the popular variety show Hello Saturday, captured widespread attention after a spontaneous interaction between them quickly went viral online.
The moment happened during a game segment on the show. While participating in a challenge, Tian Xiwei nearly slipped. Standing beside her, Zhang Linghe instinctively reached out and grabbed her wrist to keep her from falling. The entire moment lasted only a few seconds, but the cameras captured it clearly.

Shortly after the episode aired, clips of the interaction spread rapidly across social media platforms. Topics related to Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei quickly climbed the trending lists, generating hundreds of millions of views. Comment sections were soon flooded with viewers describing the moment as sweet and unexpectedly natural.
Many netizens pointed out that Zhang Linghe’s reaction appeared completely instinctive. He reached out immediately when he saw Tian Xiwei losing her balance. After making sure she was steady on her feet again, he gently released her hand.

Their expressions afterward also drew plenty of attention. Tian Xiwei appeared slightly shy and briefly avoided eye contact, while Zhang Linghe was seen smiling softly. For many viewers, the brief interaction made their on-screen chemistry feel surprisingly genuine.
Interestingly, before this, some fans had joked that both actors were somewhat “immune to CP hype.” Zhang Linghe has worked with several actresses in past dramas, yet few of those pairings sparked a viral fan response. Tian Xiwei, meanwhile, is widely known for her sweet on-screen image, but some viewers felt her previous drama pairings lacked romantic tension.
However, when the two appeared together, many audiences felt their dynamic was noticeably different. Even a simple spontaneous gesture was enough to spark widespread discussion about their chemistry.
Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei’s appearance on Hello Saturday was part of the promotional activities for their new drama Pursuit of Jade (逐玉). The historical romance series is adapted from a popular online novel and tells the story of Fan Changyu, a strong-willed woman, and Xie Zheng, a nobleman who finds himself in difficult circumstances.
Their relationship begins with an arranged marriage before gradually developing into a genuine romance. In the drama, Zhang Linghe portrays the calm and resolute Xie Zheng, while Tian Xiwei plays the brave and lively Fan Changyu.
The contrast between the two characters is one of the drama’s main attractions. Because of that, their natural interaction on the variety show felt to many viewers like a preview of the chemistry audiences might see in the series itself.
Prior to this appearance, Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei had already attracted attention when appearing together at promotional events, including brand activities and press conferences for the drama. Fans often commented that Zhang Linghe’s composed demeanor paired well with Tian Xiwei’s playful personality.
Unlike some drama pairings that appear heavily promoted for publicity, the interaction between the two actors has so far seemed relaxed and unforced. That natural dynamic has made it easier for audiences to enjoy their partnership.
As Pursuit of Jade begins airing, public interest in the pair has continued to grow. With the popularity of its lead actors and an engaging storyline, the drama has already drawn significant attention since its release.
The viral hand-holding moment from Hello Saturday has unintentionally become one of the most effective promotions for the series. For many viewers, spontaneous interactions like this feel far more appealing than moments that appear staged.
With growing attention surrounding Pursuit of Jade, audiences are now even more curious to see how Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei’s chemistry will unfold throughout the drama’s story.
