In The First Frost (难哄), Bai Jingting portrayed Sang Yan, a character known for his dominant presence, confidence, and natural leadership in the relationship. Zhang Ruonan, meanwhile, played Wen Yifan, whose personality was defined by quiet gentleness and restrained emotional depth. Their contrasting dynamic became one of the drama’s main attractions.
However, in Take My Boss Away (快把我老板带走), that dynamic is rumored to be reversed. According to circulating reports, Zhang Ruonan is expected to take on the role of Jiang Xiaoyi, while Bai Jingting is rumored to portray Ye Zhen.
The series is adapted from the novel of the same name by Ye Feiran. The story follows Jiang Xiaoyi, a woman who has long considered herself unlucky. She works under Ye Zhen, a perfectionist and highly critical boss who frequently points out flaws in her work, from major office matters to minor details.
An unexpected incident sends both of them into a parallel reality where their positions are completely reversed. Jiang Xiaoyi suddenly becomes a powerful executive, while Ye Zhen is reduced to an ordinary employee. In the novel, Jiang Xiaoyi initially enjoys the chance to “get back” at her former superior, but their relationship gradually develops into something more complex.
After a series of events in the parallel world, the two eventually return to their original reality. With Ye Zhen regaining authority, their relationship shifts in a new emotional direction.
