LayarHijau – The upcoming romance drama I Live in Your Time has drawn attention following reports of major behind-the-scenes changes. Actress Zhang Ruonan is rumored to have withdrawn from the project, which was initially expected to pair her with Wang Anyu. Her reported exit is linked to two key issues that remain unconfirmed: a director replacement and rumored disagreements over billing order.
Zhang Ruonan’s career has been on a strong upward trajectory after the success of The First Frost. According to industry chatter, her willingness to join I Live in Your Time was largely driven by the opportunity to reunite with director Qu You Ning, who previously worked with her on The First Frost and is known for a collaborative working style well suited to her strengths.

That plan reportedly shifted when the production decided to change directors. Qu You Ning was said to be replaced by Huang Tianren, a filmmaker recognized for popular works such as Someday or One Day and Sniper Butterfly. While Huang Tianren’s credentials are widely respected, the director change is rumored to have undermined Zhang Ruonan’s original motivation for accepting the project. No official explanation has been released by the production team.
In addition to the director issue, Chinese entertainment media have also circulated rumors of a tug-of-war over billing order between Zhang Ruonan and Wang Anyu. These reports further claim that the unresolved negotiations sparked rumored tensions among fans of both sides in China. To date, both the alleged billing dispute and the fandom conflict remain unverified, with no confirmation from either actor’s management or the production company.
I Live in Your Time is adapted from Bei Qing’s novel Want to Hide You and Time. The story follows Ji Qing, a clock restoration specialist, and Shen Qianzhan, a film producer who once shared unspoken feelings with her. Years later, they reunite in a professional setting, navigating workplace dynamics and emotional push-and-pull, with time serving as a central metaphor for healing and emotional growth.
Amid reports of her departure from I Live in Your Time, Zhang Ruonan is rumored to have secured a new project. She is said to be starring in the historical drama Gong Fu Jia Xi alongside Xu Zhenxuan. The series centers on a contract marriage that gradually develops into genuine love within a noble household, and is believed to involve fewer potential disputes over lead billing.
Meanwhile, the female lead role in I Live in Your Time is rumored to be offered to Zhou Ye. However, industry observers note that this casting is far from certain, as Zhou Ye currently has several other lead projects awaiting release, making billing considerations a possible obstacle once again.
As of now, the production team behind I Live in Your Time has yet to issue any official statement regarding the director change or potential cast adjustments. All information circulating remains at the level of industry rumor, with audiences awaiting formal confirmation as the project approaches its planned production schedule.
