LayarHijau– Chinese actress Zhang Ruonan once again drew public attention after appearing on Hunan TV’s New Year’s Eve gala. This time, the spotlight fell on her duet performance with actor Zhang Linghe, a moment widely described by viewers as romantic and emotionally striking.
During the event, Zhang Ruonan and Zhang Linghe performed Jay Chou’s well-known song Tears Falling, Emotions in Pieces (Wo Luo Lei Qingxu Lingsui), a classic ballad released in 2005. The song is famous for its portrayal of unspoken love, regret, and emotional vulnerability in the face of loss. With lyrics about falling tears and emotions slowly breaking apart, it has long been associated with bittersweet love stories.

Their performance quickly stood out as the two held hands throughout most of the song. The sustained hand-holding, combined with their intense eye contact and natural gestures, made the duet feel more like a scene from a romantic drama than a typical New Year’s stage performance. Many viewers described the moment as a “destined scene,” praising both their visual compatibility and emotional connection.
Clips of the duet soon spread widely across social media, sparking enthusiastic reactions from netizens. Many admitted they were deeply moved by the onstage chemistry between Zhang Ruonan and Zhang Linghe. Comment sections were even filled with direct calls to directors and production companies, urging them to offer the pair a drama script. Numerous netizens suggested romance-focused projects, particularly youth or campus love stories, believing their chemistry would suit such themes perfectly.

The choice of Tears Falling, Emotions in Pieces was also seen as enhancing the emotional atmosphere of the performance. As one of Jay Chou’s most iconic songs associated with nostalgia and unspoken feelings, it added depth to the duet, making the moment even more memorable for viewers.
Although the two only shared the stage for a special New Year’s Eve performance, the chemistry displayed by Zhang Ruonan and Zhang Linghe left a strong impression. It comes as no surprise that their names quickly became trending topics, with many fans hoping their onstage pairing will eventually extend to a full-fledged drama collaboration in the future.
