LayarHijau– Bai Jingting’s latest drama Mobius (不眠日) has become a hot topic after receiving overwhelming praise from viewers. The actor plays Ding Qi, a police officer gifted with the ability to enter repeating time cycles. One of the most talked-about scenes shows Ding Qi being shot and left on the brink of death during a mission. His bulging veins, bluish lips, and harrowing expression were so convincing that many called his performance “god-level acting,” even claiming he far outshone Cheng Yi in The Journey of Legend (赴山海).
In the story, Ding Qi is not the only one with this mysterious ability. Investigators discover that a wanted criminal known by the codename “Wuzé” (乌贼) also possesses the same power. Suspicion first falls on You Yuxiang (played by Qian Yi), the owner of a private underground laboratory filled with strange plants and countless clocks—clear signs of his obsession with “time.” But You Yuxiang strikes back with accusations of his own, claiming that Moma Technology’s CEO Mo Yuanzhi (Song Yang) once murdered their professor, Jiang Yuwen (Liu Yijun).

The tension escalates when Ding Qi notices that his time cycles are no longer identical. Each restart of the day brings subtle differences that throw him off track. Meanwhile, Wuzé begins targeting Moma Technology’s executives, seemingly trying to seize their cutting-edge genetic research. This makes Mo Yuanzhi, a biotech leader specializing in genetics, an increasingly suspicious figure.
Professor Jiang Yuwen, once known for his research on time itself, vanished years earlier in a laboratory explosion. His body was never recovered, leaving a gaping mystery. For Mo Yuanzhi, the loss also meant the destruction of a nearly completed breakthrough study. Although You Yuxiang once reported seeing Mo Yuanzhi kill the professor, the absence of a corpse or hard evidence caused the case to fade into silence.
The suspense peaks when Ding Qi investigates the ruined lab and discovers a hidden compartment where someone could have sheltered. This suggests that Jiang Yuwen may have staged his own death, escaping unscathed in order to steal his student’s research. The shocking twist left viewers reeling, especially since the narrative had long led them to suspect You Yuxiang, Upmedia reported.
These sharp turns and layered mysteries have convinced audiences that Mobius is one of the most gripping suspense dramas of the year. “At first I thought Wuzé was You Yuxiang, but then it turned out Jiang Yuwen might have orchestrated everything. The twist is insane!” wrote one stunned netizen on Weibo.
With Bai Jingting’s powerful performance and a storyline brimming with reversals, Mobius is already being hailed as a strong contender for “best sci-fi thriller drama of 2025.”
