LayarHijau – On the evening of September 16, Sohu Entertainment reported that Yu Menglong’s mother released a statement through his studio. She explained that the actor had died after accidentally falling from a building while under the influence of alcohol. Public security authorities have concluded their investigation, and funeral arrangements have already been completed.
“I hope everyone will view this incident rationally and refrain from further speculation. I also hope to return to a peaceful life soon, cherishing my son’s memory and striving to live each day to the fullest. I believe this is also Menglong’s wish. I hope he rests in peace in heaven. Once again, I thank everyone who cared and helped us,” said Yu Menglong’s mother.

Earlier, on September 11, Yu Menglong’s studio had released an obituary: “It is with deep sadness that we inform everyone that our beloved Menglong fell to his death on September 11, 2025. After police work, criminal suspicion has been ruled out. May the deceased rest in peace, and may the living remain strong.”
The news of Yu Menglong’s sudden passing shook the Chinese entertainment industry. He was widely known for his role in the hit drama Eternal Love (三生三世十里桃花). However, the lack of a direct official statement from police initially fueled questions among the public. Rumors even spread suggesting that several other celebrities had attended a dinner with him before the tragedy, with two of them rushing to clarify publicly and filing reports with the police.
As speculation intensified, Weibo on September 14 issued a crackdown report, announcing the removal of more than 4,300 rumor-related posts and images, and suspending or permanently shutting down over 60 accounts. Still, many netizens continued to demand clarification directly from the authorities.
With the latest statement from Yu Menglong’s mother, the family hopes the public can respect his passing and put an end to the ongoing speculation.
