LayarHijau – The hit BL drama Revenged Love was abruptly put on hold on the evening of July 13 without any prior notice, leaving fans shocked and confused. The production team only stated that the break was due to “content adjustments,” and gave no definite timeline for when the series would continue. The sudden pause has sparked widespread speculation, particularly among fans who fear the series may face the same fate as Addicted, an earlier work by producer Chai Jidan that was permanently taken off air.
Chai Jidan, who also wrote the original story, responded on social media to calm fans: “We’re rushing to finish everything. Can you give us a little time?” He assured viewers that a new airing schedule would be announced within the week.

According to a report by Upmedia, many in the industry believe the reason behind this sudden break lies in Revenged Love’s overwhelming popularity. Originally released quietly in neighboring regions around mainland China, the drama unexpectedly went viral. Viewers from mainland China even found ways to bypass internet restrictions just to watch it, leading to a wave of unprecedented attention.
The strong chemistry between the two leads, Tian Xuning and Zi Yu, built a passionate fanbase almost overnight. Their emotional, intimate scenes consistently dominated trending topics on social media, with the actors’ popularity quickly surpassing top stars like Liu Yuning, Xiao Zhan, and Yang Yang. However, the rapid rise to fame has also triggered complications.
Both Tian Xuning and Zi Yu are rumored to be facing an unofficial “soft ban” that restricts their visibility in the media. Despite this, discussions about Revenged Love continue to dominate hot search lists, making it difficult for streaming platforms to manage the intense attention.
Inside the entertainment industry, some have pointed out that Revenged Love has drawn attention away from other major summer titles such as A Dream Within A Dream (Liu Yuning), In the Name of Blossom (Yang Zi), and The Princess’s Gambit (Meng Ziyi).
Notably, several new dramas also premiered this week—Coroner’s Diary (Ao Ruipeng & Li Landi), Our Generation (Zhang Linghe & Zhao Jinmai), and the crime drama The Narcotic Operation. Many speculate that the delay in Revenged Love’s broadcast was timed to give these newcomers a fairer share of public attention.
To make matters more complicated, Tian Xuning’s personal life has become the subject of controversy after allegations emerged that he had been involved with four different women, leading to rumors that all of his projects were quietly put on hold.
Chai Jidan had previously made a bold statement: “Even if the King of Heaven steps in, I’ll make sure this drama airs to the end.” Now, with the drama’s airing paused and no exact return date given, fans are understandably worried. Many are urging the production team not to censor or remove romantic scenes between the main couple when the show resumes.
While the future of Revenged Love remains uncertain, viewers are clinging to the hope that this is only a temporary setback—and not another disappearance like Addicted.
