LayarHijau – After disappearing from social media for around 11 years, Black Bullet author Shiden Kanzaki has finally returned with major news. He announced that the popular light novel series will be revived through a new project titled Black Bullet: New World Order.
Kanzaki was last active on social media in March 2015. Since then, he had not provided any updates on the future of Black Bullet, leaving fans waiting for years without knowing whether the series would ever continue.

On the night of September 9, 2026, Kanzaki finally returned to social media and announced the project. Dengeki Bunko simultaneously revealed that Black Bullet would be revived under the New World Order project.
The announcement came as a major surprise to fans who had been waiting for the series to return for years.
This Is More Than a Reprint of the Original Novels
The return of Black Bullet will not simply involve reprinting the original novels. Kanzaki said he has personally made major revisions and edits to the previous material.
The changes are intended to make each volume easier to read and give the story a smoother pace. Some sections have even undergone substantial structural changes.
One of the biggest changes will come with Volume 5 of Black Bullet: New World Order, which is scheduled for release in February 2027.
New World Order Volume 5 Part 1 will almost entirely rewrite the material from the original Volume 7. Meanwhile, New World Order Volume 5 Part 2 will contain a completely new story that has never been published before.
In other words, the project is not simply a polished version of the old novels. Kanzaki is significantly revising some of the existing material while also preparing a new continuation for the series.
Two Books a Month for Four Months
Kanzaki revealed that Black Bullet: New World Order will begin its release schedule on November 10, 2026.
The project is scheduled to run for four consecutive months, with two books released each month. The schedule will culminate on February 10, 2027, when two new books are scheduled to be released.
One will be New World Order Volume 5 Part 1, which is a rewritten version of material from the original Volume 7. The other, New World Order Volume 5 Part 2, will feature an entirely new story.
The release schedule marks the long-awaited revival of Black Bullet after more than a decade on hiatus.
The Original Volume 7 Will Be Removed From Digital Platforms
The substantial changes to the story have also led to adjustments concerning the original editions on digital book platforms.
To prevent readers from becoming confused, only the original Volume 7 will be removed from major digital platforms. The original Volumes 1 through 6 will remain available and will continue to be sold alongside the New World Order editions.
The reason is related to the changes in the story. If readers finish the original Volume 7 and then move directly to New World Order Volume 5 Part 2, the story will no longer connect properly because the material has been significantly revised.
The original Volumes 1 through 6 will remain available because they contain additional material, including afterwords and comments from Kanzaki.
For new readers, however, Kanzaki recommends starting with the New World Order version. He believes the new edition has a more streamlined narrative pace that makes it easier to read.
Shiden Kanzaki Explains Why He Disappeared
Following his return, Kanzaki also spoke publicly for the first time about why he suddenly stopped updating his work and disappeared from social media.
When Black Bullet received its anime adaptation, various anime-related responsibilities began piling up. The demanding schedule resulted in a prolonged period of sleep deprivation.
Ironically, after achieving one of his biggest dreams—seeing Black Bullet adapted into an anime—Kanzaki found himself struggling with a sense of uncertainty about what to do next.
After the intense period of work finally came to an end, Kanzaki experienced severe burnout. Eventually, the condition led him to step away from his writing career and disappear from the public eye.
Kanzaki now says that he has fully recovered and resolved the issues that had affected him. He also revealed that the New World Order project had actually been in preparation behind the scenes for quite some time.
After going through that preparation process, he finally felt ready to announce the return of Black Bullet to readers.
Author Also Announces a Brand-New Novel
Kanzaki’s return brings more than news about Black Bullet. He has also announced a completely original novel titled Akuno Shinzui (The Essence of Evil).
The new novel is scheduled to be released in spring 2027.
Kanzaki revealed that The Essence of Evil is a story he has wanted to write for a long time. More details about the project and its story will be revealed gradually in the future.
After more than a decade without an update, Kanzaki is now returning with two projects at once. He is reviving Black Bullet through New World Order, featuring substantial revisions to the original material alongside new story content, while also preparing an original novel that he has wanted to create for years.
