PUBG Mobile Light Is Coming for Budget Phones, With a Full Release Set for Late 2026

LayarHijau – Tencent and Krafton have introduced PUBG Mobile Light, a new app designed to offer a lighter and more flexible way to play PUBG Mobile, particularly for players using smartphones with limited hardware.

Rick, a producer at PUBG Mobile, stressed that PUBG Mobile Light is not simply a smaller version of the game with a reduced experience. Instead, it is designed to maintain PUBG Mobile’s quality standards while giving players another option if they want to save storage space and put less strain on their devices.

PUBG Mobile will remain the choice for players looking for the full experience, with its richest content and highest-quality gameplay. PUBG Mobile Light is aimed at those who want to get into battle faster, use less storage and reduce the load on their devices.

The initial download is expected to be around 1 GB on Android and under 2 GB on iOS. Players will not have to install any additional mandatory packages before their first match.

Once the initial download is complete, they can jump straight into the battleground. Additional modules can be downloaded separately later, allowing players to choose the content they need based on how they play.

Despite its lighter footprint, PUBG Mobile Light is designed to preserve the core PUBG Mobile experience. The developers specifically highlighted the Classic Erangel map, supplies and core combat, which are designed to match the original game and keep the battle experience authentic.

Existing PUBG Mobile players will also be able to use their current accounts to sign in to PUBG Mobile Light. Items they already own can carry over, allowing them to continue using their existing outfits and other items.

The social side of the game will remain connected as well. Players using PUBG Mobile Light can team up with their friends on PUBG Mobile, so moving to the lighter app will not prevent squads from playing together.

PUBG Mobile Light will continue to receive updates alongside PUBG Mobile, allowing players to keep up with new content across both versions.

Tencent and Krafton are targeting an official launch for PUBG Mobile Light later this year. The exact release date has not yet been announced.

Pre-registration will open through the app stores on August 25, 2026.

PUBG Mobile Light gives players another way to enter the battleground, combining a smaller initial download and a lighter load on their devices with the core gameplay experience that defines PUBG Mobile.
