Sun Qian Accused by Chinese Netizens of Sneaking Ads Into Social Media Post, With 6 Brands Allegedly Featured

LayarHijau – Sun Qian’s popularity has surged after her breakout role as Shang Zhitao in the Chinese drama The Early Spring. As her profile has grown, the actress has also been appearing in an increasing number of commercial collaborations.

However, Sun Qian’s latest social media post has sparked debate among Chinese netizens. Some accused the actress of featuring too many products in her photos, with as many as six brands allegedly appearing in a single post.

Chinese Netizens Question the Products in Her Photos

The speculation began after some netizens questioned whether Sun Qian actually uses several of the products shown in the photos. They suspected that the post may have been created as a form of soft advertising, allowing her to earn money through product placements.

One of the products singled out by netizens was a loaf of bread that appeared in the photos. Some suspected that Sun Qian had not even taken a bite of it.

A bottle of hair conditioner also attracted attention, with netizens suggesting that it looked as though the product had never been used. Meanwhile, a suitcase featured in the photos was described by some as inconsistent with Sun Qian’s personal taste.

Another photo showed Sun Qian wearing only one earbud. A perfume bottle that appeared while she was posing with her dog was also suspected of being deliberately positioned where the brand would be clearly visible.

A down jacket that some netizens considered out of season also appeared in the post, which was presented as everyday content. These details led some Chinese netizens to further speculate that the post may have included promotional placements.

It is important to note that these are observations and suspicions from netizens. There has been no confirmation in the material circulating online that all of the featured products were paid advertisements, or that Sun Qian does not actually use the products in her personal life.

Sun Qian’s Alleged Advertising Rates Also Become a Talking Point

The debate later expanded to the alleged rates Sun Qian receives for this type of promotion. Some netizens criticized what they described as soft advertising, arguing that the actress could simply take photos with a product and get paid for it.

According to figures discussed online, Sun Qian was said to charge around 50,000 yuan, or approximately $7,000, for a single advertisement. Based on that figure, some netizens estimated that she could potentially earn around 25 million yuan, or roughly $3.5 million, a year from this type of commercial work.

Those figures are estimates based on assumptions made by netizens and do not represent Sun Qian’s officially reported income.

Some netizens also claimed that the advertising elements in the post were so obvious that even Sun Qian’s own fans could easily recognize them. They criticized the way the products were presented, arguing that the promotional aspect was not particularly subtle if the post was indeed part of a paid collaboration.

Interestingly, a brand representative was reportedly seen in the comments directly acknowledging that one of the products featured in Sun Qian’s photos belonged to their brand.

As the discussion grew, a Chinese entertainment gossip source later claimed that Sun Qian’s actual rate for soft advertising was in the six-figure yuan range. If accurate, that would be considerably higher than the previously discussed figure of 50,000 yuan.

However, the claim about a six-figure yuan advertising rate has not been officially confirmed by Sun Qian or her management team.

Sun Qian’s post has since become a topic of discussion on Chinese social media. While some netizens have questioned the number of products appearing in a single post and suspected that they were included for promotional purposes, there has been no official confirmation regarding the status of each product or the actress’s alleged advertising rates.
