LayarHijau– Meng Ziyi’s new costume drama Blossoms of Power (百花杀), co-starring He Yu, has kicked off with one of the most high-profile promotional campaigns for a Chinese drama this year. Ahead of its Tencent Video premiere, dozens of celebrities, drama production teams, and brand partners came together to support the series, while Meng Ziyi’s studio turned heads by launching a lucky draw with a brand-new car as the grand prize.
The drama marks Meng Ziyi’s latest leading role following the success of Blossom (九重紫), which significantly raised her profile after its broadcast alongside Li Yunrui.

In the days leading up to the premiere, fellow celebrities and business partners joined a large-scale “cloud screening” campaign, a common promotional activity in China where virtual viewing seats are sponsored to encourage audiences to watch a new release.
Twenty-four celebrities participated in the campaign. Alongside Meng Ziyi’s close friends Bai Lu, Wang Churan, and Yu Shuxin, the lineup also included Yang Zi, Yang Yang, Dylan Wang (Wang Hedi), Cheng Lei, Chen Duling, Wang Hongyi, Bao Shang’en, Henan, Zeng Shunxi, Wang Xingyue, Song Qian (Victoria Song), Song Yanfei, Zhang Ruonan, Hou Minghao, Hu Xianxu, Yang Chaoyue, Wang Ziqi, and comedian Xu Zhisheng.
Support also came from the production teams behind Empress Reborn (将门独后), Tigers Sniff the Rose (尚公主), San Xian Mi Hui (三线谜回), and Endless Summers (爱在无尽夏), Meng Ziyi’s upcoming drama. Several of her endorsement partners—including Estée Lauder, Michael Kors, Lee Cooper, Shifanli, Wuling, and Guerlain—also joined the campaign.
Chinese media reported that the campaign surpassed 100,000 virtual screening seats, underscoring the remarkable level of support surrounding the drama before its release. The impressive list of celebrities, production teams, and brand partners even prompted many Chinese netizens to joke that Meng Ziyi seemed to know “half of the entertainment industry.”
Meng Ziyi’s studio also generated buzz with an eye-catching giveaway. Fans who followed the studio’s official Weibo account and later submitted proof that they had watched Blossoms of Power were eligible to enter a lucky draw for a Wuling Bingo Pro, a vehicle currently endorsed by the actress.
The campaign quickly became a hot topic on Chinese social media, with many netizens describing the car giveaway as one of the most generous promotional events they had seen for a Chinese drama.
This is not the first time Meng Ziyi’s studio has offered lavish prizes to promote her projects. During the promotional campaign for Blossom, it gave away three all-inclusive three-day trips to Dali, complete with flights and hotel accommodations. More recently, while promoting The Princess’s Gambit (桃花映江山), the studio distributed surprise gifts and gift cards to more than 200 winners, continuing its tradition of using creative giveaways to build excitement around Meng Ziyi’s dramas.
