This time, she leaves behind her “sweet girl” image to play rookie police officer Li Qian.
Born with Luck stars Wang Xiao alongside Tian Xiwei. Adapted from a novel by mystery writer Zi Jin Chen, the drama has drawn attention for its unique concept of “high-IQ planning, low-IQ execution.”

During a livestream promotional event, Tian Xiwei revealed that playing Li Qian fulfilled her long-time dream of portraying a police officer onscreen.
She also admitted she was extremely excited when she learned she would be working with Wang Xiao.
“I’m in! I’m in! I’m in!” she recalled excitedly while laughing about her reaction after receiving the offer.
Their strong chemistry in the drama also continued behind the scenes. Coincidentally, Born with Luck premiered on Wang Xiao’s birthday. During a livestream event, Tian Xiwei surprised him by appearing in a pink strawberry cake costume while the cast sang a birthday song together.
In addition, Tian Xiwei is known for sharing snacks with the production staff during filming. Wang Xiao revealed that after casually mentioning how much he liked her sour candy, he found a pack of it specially left for him in the dressing room the next day.
Director Liu Haibo also openly praised Tian Xiwei’s performance, saying it exceeded expectations.
“Working with Xiao Tian was truly a pleasant surprise. Even though she had never played a police officer before, once she put on the uniform, she simply became Li Qian,” he said.
He added that Tian Xiwei has a youthful and clean aura while also carrying inner strength. According to him, she successfully captured Li Qian’s intelligence, competence, and social awareness.
