The incident began when Bai Shanshan’s Weibo account shared a threatening post claiming to have intimate photos of the actor. The post quickly spread and drew widespread discussion. Netizens then discovered a backup account believed to belong to Bai Shanshan, complete with photos linked to her identity.
Shortly after, Bai Shanshan’s main account was reportedly targeted by mass reports and became inaccessible. However, she continued her actions through another account and even mentioned Wu Lei directly in a post, reigniting public attention.
In response, Wu Lei issued an official statement on social media on January 19, asserting that he does not know Bai Shanshan and has appointed lawyers to pursue legal action according to applicable regulations to protect his rights and reputation.
The statement was further reinforced by Wu Lei’s studio, which reposted the clarification and emphasized its commitment to pursue legal defense fully and take strict action against any form of defamation, threats, or invasion of privacy.
