LayarHijau – The contract dispute between actress Zhao Lusi and her agency, Galaxy Cool Entertainment (天津银河酷娱文化传媒有限公司), appears to have triggered noticeable changes within the company. Corporate data from Tianyancha dated November 14 shows that several companies and investment firms have withdrawn from the shareholder lineup, accompanied by alterations in key corporate positions.

According to the filing, Shanghai Yunfeng Xincheng Investment Center (Limited Partnership) and Beijing Chuangshi Xinhe Technology Co., Ltd. have officially exited the company. Each previously held a 12.2727% stake, with a committed capital contribution of more than 4.61 million yuan. Three investment entities from Gongqingcheng—Mingguan Yangliu, Mingguan Palm, and Mingguan Songbai—also pulled out, with smaller shareholding percentages ranging from 0.7% to 1.7%.

Galaxy Cool Entertainment, established in 2015, now has only three remaining shareholders, though their ownership ratios have not been disclosed. The company continues to be led by Wu Xiaozhen as its legal representative. One shareholder that remains—Beijing Dayu Happy Culture Media Co., Ltd.—is fully owned by Orca Cultural Entertainment, which was previously part of Alibaba Cultural Entertainment.

Yunfeng Fund, one of the investors that withdrew, is also known to have close ties with companies within the Alibaba ecosystem.

Impact of Zhao Lusi’s Contract Statement

These corporate changes come on the heels of Zhao Lusi’s Weibo post on August 2, in which she publicly revealed her ongoing contract conflict with Galaxy Cool Entertainment. In her statement, the actress said she still had four years left on the renewed contract she signed two years earlier. She explained that due to health issues, she had to withdraw from several projects and brand endorsements to reduce her workload. Although the company initially assured her that it would cover the resulting losses, Zhao Lusi claimed that she ultimately had to bear the compensation herself.

She also alleged that the company transferred 2.05 million yuan from her studio’s account without approval and pressured her financial staff into signing revenue-sharing documents. Zhao Lusi expressed concern that she might be asked to pay additional fees and criticized the company for refusing to return operational control of her studio—an issue she said had caused significant staff turnover.

On August 3, Galaxy Cool Entertainment released an official statement, saying it was “shocked” by Zhao Lusi’s claims. The company insisted that it had always communicated with her in good faith, fulfilled its contractual obligations as a management agency, and had never engaged in illegal or contract-breaching behavior.

The agency added that it had been under tremendous pressure while working to minimize negative fallout from the dispute, urging Zhao Lusi not to publish statements that could mislead the public about the situation. The controversy quickly escalated, dominating discussions across social media platforms and drawing attention from fans and industry insiders alike.

Background: Alibaba’s Failed Acquisition Plan (Years Before the Zhao Lusi Dispute)

Before the current turmoil, Galaxy Cool Entertainment had risen to prominence with the hit variety program Mars Intelligence Agency (火星情报局), hosted by Wang Han. Its first season garnered more than 900 million views and received investment support from Youku and companies connected to Alibaba.

In 2020—several years prior to the conflict involving Zhao Lusi—Alibaba Pictures had planned to acquire a 60% stake in Galaxy Cool Entertainment for 400 million yuan. However, the deal fell through after Galaxy Cool chose to pursue an independent development strategy. In October 2020, both sides officially terminated the acquisition agreement along with all related documents.

Now, with several major investors withdrawing following the contract dispute and the company’s internal changes under scrutiny, the future direction of Galaxy Cool Entertainment has once again become a topic of industry attention.
