LayarHijau – The filming of Wu Lei’s latest wuxia drama, The One, has officially begun. Over the past few days, leaked photos and videos from the set have started circulating on Weibo and Xiaohongshu (Red Note).
As previously reported by LayarHijau, Wu Lei plays the role of Cheng Ping’an in the drama. From the leaked images and videos, the actor’s appearance has become visible, though details about other characters are still limited.

During the drama’s initial announcement on October 27 at the Tencent Video Vision Conference, only the producer/director and Wu Lei appeared on stage. So far, the identities of the other cast members remain undisclosed.

In an official Weibo announcement, The One account wrote:
“A young man from a humble alley, refusing to be a caged bird, wields his sword to change his fate. Fearless and pure, he cuts through thorns step by step, paving his own path to success.”
Wu Lei’s global fan club revealed on Weibo that the official ceremony celebrating the start of filming will take place on Monday, November 10. According to information on Douban, The One is expected to be divided into multiple seasons. The part that begins filming this November is called Season 1, titled The Caged, consisting of 24 episodes.
In the currently announced cast list, only Wu Lei and Zhang Zhen are confirmed. Some actresses rumored to star in the drama include Vanda Magraf and Tian Xiwei.
