LayarHijau– The long-standing conflict between fans of Bai Lu and Ren Jialun has flared up once again, this time fueled by controversial comments from well-known screenwriter and producer Yu Zheng. Although Bai Lu and Ren Jialun previously co-starred in two popular dramas, One and Only (周生如故) and Forever and Ever (一生一世), the on-screen chemistry between the two has failed to calm tensions between their fandoms.
The latest round of fan wars was triggered by a support poster created by Bai Lu’s fans for her new drama Feud (临江仙). Some of the content in the poster subtly implied that the success of One and Only was mainly due to Bai Lu’s outstanding performance, sparking outrage among Ren Jialun’s supporters. Heated arguments soon broke out online, with Bai Lu’s fans flooding Yu Zheng’s social media accounts, demanding he step in to resolve the situation.

However, instead of easing the tension, Yu Zheng stirred the pot further with a cryptic post: “Those who should climb the mountain, climb it. Those who are going downhill, go downhill.” Netizens quickly interpreted this as a jab at Ren Jialun, implying that his career is declining while Bai Lu’s is on the rise. This comment fueled even more fan wars, with Bai Lu’s supporters posting comparison charts between the two actors, mocking Ren Jialun’s alleged career slump.
Ren Jialun’s fans pushed back, accusing Yu Zheng of trying to divert attention from the negative reviews of Feud. They pointed out that Ren Jialun’s career remains strong—he recently wrapped filming for the major period drama Silent Tides (风与潮) and has received praise for his performance in the fantasy drama Perfect Match (佳偶天成), both of which have boosted his popularity.
Yu Zheng didn’t stop there. In response to Bai Lu’s fans’ comments, he wrote, “I’m a little crazy and not afraid of being cursed. If you keep provoking me, I’ll post screenshots from writers, actors, and directors complaining about a certain someone in our WeChat groups. Let’s see who’ll be embarrassed then.” This was widely seen as a direct attack on Ren Jialun’s reputation within the entertainment industry.
Meanwhile, Bai Lu’s protective stance toward her fans also drew attention. She has often described her fans as close friends or even like family, saying in interviews that their relationship feels like that of a mother and daughter. This deep bond explains why her fans are so fiercely loyal, even if it means continuing a drawn-out conflict with Ren Jialun’s supporters.
According to a report by Hk.on.cc on July 5, 2025, the renewed conflict highlights how long-standing fan rivalries can escalate when industry insiders like Yu Zheng get involved, making matters even worse.
