LayarHijau.com — Chinese actress Zhao Lusi once again captured public attention during her appearance at a JORYA fashion event on June 11. Dressed in a strapless light blue gown, she radiated elegance, earning praise from netizens who dubbed her a “sea salt princess” for how the color made her fair skin glow.
As the brand ambassador for JORYA, Zhao Lusi attended the grand opening of the brand’s first global flagship store and a pop-up collaboration with RosyDoedian, her own fashion brand. The event featured a pink theme and included personal touches such as dachshund-shaped benches, a nod to her beloved pet dogs, Doe and Diandian. Zhao even wore a “parent-child” matching outfit with her dog Doe and was seen chuckling when the pup stopped walking mid-path—a moment fans found adorable.
Amid the cheerful atmosphere, Zhao’s warm and thoughtful interactions with fans stood out. She smiled, joked, recognized longtime supporters by name, and even helped one fan fix her false eyelashes. However, when a fan asked, “Are you okay?” Zhao Lusi simply smiled in response, without elaborating. This sparked fresh speculation about her current health status.
Many people also speculated that although Zhao Lusi’s figure looks fuller than when she was ill, her social media posts still carry a hint of melancholy. This is seen as a sign that her depression hasn’t fully lifted, and her mental state remains a significant concern among fans.
Zhao Lusi has reportedly been facing serious health issues since late last year. After wrapping up filming for the drama Almost Lover (恋人), co-starring Peng Guanying in Hangzhou, she was rushed to the hospital due to physical discomfort. According to a report by Upmedia on Friday (June 13), she was diagnosed with dissociative disorder and depression, requiring intensive medical care.
Filming for Almost Lover was reportedly very demanding. Zhao was given what’s known in the Chinese entertainment industry as a “yin-yang script”—two different versions of the script, one official for the production team and one altered version for specific actors. This practice often forces actors to memorize more material and improvise on set, adding significant psychological stress. In Zhao’s case, it led to a temporary loss of speech and the ability to walk.
After undergoing months of rehabilitation, Zhao Lusi has recovered enough to stand and appear in public. However, she has not returned to filming. For the past six months, she has been on hiatus, focusing on recovery. Though she now appears healthier and fuller than during her lowest point, some fans note that her social media posts still carry a melancholic tone—suggesting that her emotional recovery is ongoing.
Zhao Lusi’s next drama awaiting release is Love’s Ambition (许我耀眼), previously known during production as Let Me Shine. Fans are hopeful that she will make a full recovery and return to the screen in her best condition.
