This afternoon, Chen Zheyuan and Liang Jie trended due to their red envelope giveaways. Not long after his name started trending on Weibo, Liang Jie promptly distributed red envelopes to users.
Meanwhile, several hours after his name trended, Chen Zheyuan had yet to give out red envelopes. Sohu later reported that Chen Zheyuan posted on his personal account on the platform saying he broke his bone while showering today. As a result, he had to undergo surgery at the hospital on Lunar New Year’s Eve 2025.
However, an hour after revealing this news, he shared digital red envelopes with Weibo users. His actions received praise from many netizens.
Many fans commented, “Chen Zheyuan is truly sincere; he didn’t forget to send red envelopes to everyone even after breaking his bone.”
The trending status of these two stars on Weibo was not coincidental, even though many other celebrities were also giving out digital red envelopes. Another reason behind Chen Zheyuan and Liang Jie trending is that their new drama is set to premiere on February 1, 2025.
Synopsis of “The White Olive Tree”
In a mission interview in the turbulent East Country, a female reporter from Liang City Satellite TV, Song Ran (played by Liang Jie), faces danger. Fortunately, she is rescued by Li Zan, a Chinese explosive engineer who volunteers in the East Country. Li Zan’s gentleness and pure heart deeply attract Song Ran.
Through several interactions with Song Ran, Li Zan also realizes that although she appears weak on the outside, she is actually brave and strong, with a heart full of justice and kindness. With the same ideals and compatible souls, a spark of love ignites between them. However, a sudden bombing attack halts their budding relationship.
After returning to China, they both face low points in their lives and even lose contact. They suffer physically and mentally, as Li Zan feels guilty and blames himself for the death of his friend who sacrificed his life to save him during the bombing, while Song Ran becomes embroiled in controversy due to a photo she took during the attack. By chance, they reunite, and their lives gradually return to normal. Together, they plant the seeds of the white olive tree.
