Last year, Zhang Wanyi’s romantic life caught public attention after rumors surfaced that he was dating two women at the same time.
Several women have been rumored to be romantically linked to the handsome actor. Who are they?
Yang Xue’er
One of the women rumored to be dating Zhang Wanyi is Yang Xue’er, an actress from the drama Weaving A Tale of Love. The two have never appeared in the same drama or shared the screen, but they do follow each other on Weibo. Netizens became suspicious of their relationship after noticing they were in the same location, as shared in their Weibo posts. They also refer to their pet cats as “children.”
Of course, some of the claims made by netizens in China as “evidence” of their relationship seem absurd. Neither party has responded to these rumors.
Houzi Xin
The second woman rumored to be dating Zhang Wanyi is internet celebrity Houzi Xin. This rumor emerged after she was spotted visiting Zhang Wanyi’s filming location in July 2023. She also posted a photo from the same location and in the same pose as Zhang Wanyi. Speculation among netizens intensified when they discovered that Zhang Wanyi’s Weibo avatar featured the band Brownie, which is also favored by Houzi Xin.
The response from Zhang Wanyi’s fan club when these rumors surfaced was seen as pouring gasoline on the fire. Members reportedly unfollowed Zhang Wanyi, leading netizens to believe there might be some truth to the rumors about his romantic life, according to Sohu.
Despite the controversy, Zhang Wanyi’s career seems unaffected. His fans appear to understand that he is no longer young and that it is natural for him to be in a relationship. He likely prefers to keep his personal life private and focus on his career for now.
Zhang Wanyi’s Ideal Girlfriend
In a previous live stream, Zhang Wanyi revealed that his ideal girlfriend should be “kind, devoted, caring, and patriotic.”
Zhang Wanyi and Meng Ziyi
Zhang Wanyi has also been rumored to be close to Meng Ziyi. Both are alumni of the Beijing Film Academy, majoring in acting. While Zhang Wanyi had already begun his career in the entertainment industry, Meng Ziyi was still a regular student. They are said to have interacted frequently on campus, dining together and practicing acting.
With this closeness, rumors have emerged suggesting that their friendship may have developed into something more.
However, for now, Zhang Wanyi has not confirmed any romantic relationships. The aforementioned rumors seem to stem from speculation among netizens in China, and no concrete evidence has surfaced.
