LayarHijau – The Thai horror film Our House (2025) not only delivers terror on the big screen but also leaves behind spine-chilling stories from behind the scenes. Several crew members and actors have shared the supernatural experiences they encountered during filming, ranging from a ritual that triggered a fireball to invisible entities interacting with the cast.
Directed by veteran filmmaker Kongkiat Komesiri, Our House (2025) has become one of the most successful Thai horror films in recent years. It premiered in Thailand on December 4 and immediately captured audience attention. Within the first four days of release, the film grossed 31.5 million baht (approximately USD 945,000). Two months later, total box office earnings reportedly surpassed 123 million baht (approximately USD 3.69 million).
Our House (2025) tells the story of a successful businessman and his pregnant wife who move into a new house they believe is perfect for starting their family. However, after settling in, they begin experiencing strange occurrences. The haunting does not originate from their own home but from the abandoned house next door, which holds a dark history and is notoriously eerie.
The house’s sinister reputation became all too real during filming. According to Taiwan’s China Times, Kongkiat Komesiri revealed that the primary filming location was a long-abandoned house. The production team faced multiple refusals before finally obtaining permission to rent the property from its management.
Unusual events began on the very first day. During the opening ritual for the shoot, a startling incident occurred at the altar. While a monk was leading the ceremony, a fireball about half a meter high suddenly erupted from the offerings. Crew members panicked and had to use a fire extinguisher to put it out.
The odd occurrences did not stop there. When the monk continued his prayers and invited spirits to partake in the offerings, the main door of the house suddenly opened and closed by itself. Kongkiat emphasized that at the time, there was no one inside and no wind that could explain the movement, making the atmosphere deeply unsettling.
The lead actor, Teeradetch Metawarayut, also experienced supernatural phenomena. Known for his fear of paranormal events, he reportedly encountered strange occurrences even during auditions. While recording test scenes, some of his dialogue mysteriously failed to register, as if his voice had been “muted.”
After officially joining the project, his mother, aware of these incidents, bought him five protective amulets, instructing him to wear them around his neck throughout filming as a safeguard.
The most terrifying experiences were reported by Bowkylion, the actress portraying the red-clad female ghost. She revealed that during breaks, she frequently saw a figure with red-painted nails appear before her. Even more chilling, she felt an invisible hand caressing her face, a sensation that left her extremely frightened.
The eerie experiences were echoed visually in the film’s marketing, as the scene of the hand touching the face became a key element of the official poster for Our House (2025), seemingly reflecting the supernatural events experienced by the cast.
These spine-tingling behind-the-scenes stories have heightened the allure of Our House (2025) for audiences. Many viewers believe the film delivers horror not only on screen but also in real life, solidifying its reputation as one of the most terrifying Thai horror films in recent memory.
