On the other hand, Song Weilong stars as Lin Yu Sen, a mature man with a calm personality and a reassuring presence. The character is not very talkative, but his strength lies in his attitude and actions. Song Weilong’s performance provides balance to the story, especially in building a slow yet steady emotional connection with Xi Guang.
The character Zhuang Xu, played by Lai Wei Ming, appears as Xi Guang’s first love. He is portrayed as intelligent and ambitious, yet often trapped in a rigid way of thinking. His presence brings emotional conflict that feels realistic, particularly in depicting relationships tested during the transition into adulthood.
Meanwhile, Bai Bing Ke plays Ye Rong, a woman who appears confident on the surface but gradually reveals a more vulnerable side. Her interactions with other characters add depth to the story, especially when personal feelings begin to clash with ambition and life choices. Ye Rong becomes an important element that makes the relationships between characters feel more complex and human.
Supporting roles are filled by Allen Lin as Shao Jia Qi and Fan Shi Ran as Nie Cheng Yuan. Although they are not always at the center of the story, their presence plays a significant role in driving the plot forward and shaping key decisions made by the main characters.
Overall, the strength of Shine On Me lies not only in its story, but also in its well-chosen cast. Each actor brings distinct color and depth to their respective roles, making the relationships between characters feel natural rather than forced. This calm and mature approach is what makes the series comfortable to follow, especially for viewers looking for a romance that grows slowly and is rich in emotion.
