LayarHijau – The costume romance drama Glory (玉茗茶骨) held its premiere event on December 29 in Hengdian. Main cast members including Hou Minghao, Guli Nazha, Chen Ruoxuan, Cheng Xiao, Zhao Yiqin, and Zhang Nan attended the event to promote the upcoming series.

Hou Minghao appeared in a black shirt layered with a light green jacket, while Guli Nazha wore a soft pink long dress paired with an elegant updo. Both opted for a refined new Chinese style look that appeared simple yet graceful, drawing attention for their harmonious visuals. Their appearance further highlighted the strong chemistry they share as the drama’s leading couple.

Meanwhile, Cheng Xiao stood out with a contrasting style, wearing a color-blocked plaid jacket paired with a black strapless top and a tulle skirt, presenting a modern and fashionable aura amid the more traditional outfits worn by other cast members.

During the interactive segment, Hou Minghao and Guli Nazha recreated a romantic moment by acting out a scene of sharing an umbrella while scattering flower petals. They also posed together holding camellia flowers and even did a confident runway-style walk with wine glasses in hand. These moments were met with enthusiastic cheers from the audience. Hou Minghao also performed the OST Luo live on stage, his gentle voice earning warm applause.

When asked to rank the “skills” of her character Rong Shanbao, Guli Nazha answered from the character’s perspective. She stated that tea-making comes first, as it is the core belief that Rong Shanbao steadfastly upholds. Second is her role as a leader, considering the livelihoods of countless tea farmers depend on the family. Her sharp wit and ability to retort come next, while beauty, she felt, is the least important trait for the character.

Cheng Xiao, who takes on an antagonistic role for the first time, explained that her character is not a “villain” in the traditional sense. Instead, she is portrayed as highly self-centered and willing to do many things to achieve her goals, but she still has clear boundaries, especially when it comes to her family. She added that her character’s initial hostility stems from jealousy toward her sister, before eventually joining forces to strengthen the family together.

Glory tells the story of Lu Jianglai, a top imperial examination graduate appointed as the magistrate of Chun’an County. Known for solving complex cases, his life takes a dramatic turn when he becomes entangled in the murder case of a nobleman’s wife, which is suspected to involve the Rong family. The accusation pushes him into despair, until he is saved by Rong Shanbao, the daughter of the Tea King. The two then work together to uncover the truth, restore the family’s standing, expand the tea trade, and gradually build a romantic bond amid the tea plantations.

Glory officially premiered on December 29 and is being broadcast simultaneously across multiple platforms such as iQiyi, Viki and MGTV.
