LayarHijau – Chinese actor Guo Junchen has been under public scrutiny in recent weeks due to controversial rumors labeling him as the “next Yu Menglong.” Some netizens have pointed out physical similarities and gestures that Guo made, which reminded them of the late Yu Menglong, sparking concerns among fans. The rumors went viral, though Guo Junchen’s studio has firmly denied the claims, emphasizing that they are baseless and defamatory. The studio also clarified that the speculation is purely the netizens’ interpretation and has no factual evidence.
At the same time, another rumor has connected Guo Junchen with actress-producer Yang Mi. Reports suggest that Yang Mi’s newly established agency, Tianyi Entertainment, may be planning to bring Guo under its management—a move that many netizens interpret as her attempt to “protect” the young actor from the kind of pressures that Yu Menglong faced. Leaked lists of potential artists under the agency reportedly included Guo’s name, although Yang Mi’s team has not confirmed any official arrangement.
Despite these circulating rumors, public attention returned to Guo Junchen following the premiere of his new drama, Sword and Beloved (天地剑心). During a livestream promoting the drama on Thursday, October 30, Guo and co-star He Ruixian displayed warm and spontaneous interactions, from playful banter to friendly gestures, instantly making the hashtag #郭俊辰何瑞贤你俩不对劲# trend on Weibo. Their chemistry added a new layer of excitement to the existing speculation, leaving fans eager to see their on-screen and off-screen dynamics.

In the fantasy-romance series, both actors play key supporting roles:
Guo Junchen portrays Quan Rumu, the loyal childhood friend and ally of the main character Wangquan Fu Gui. Rumu is depicted as a steadfast figure involved in moral and political conflicts within the human realm, providing support while facing internal struggles in their alliance.
He Ruixian plays Long Weiyun, a member of a powerful supernatural lineage who influences the unfolding conflict between humans and spirits. Her role adds layers of intrigue and depth to the story’s central conflicts.
The lead roles are held by Cheng Yi as Wangquan Fu Gui and Li Yitong as Qing Tong. The drama follows Wangquan Fu Gui, a warrior trained since childhood to fight demons, and Qing Tong, a spider spirit infiltrating his manor as a spy. As the pair confront dangers and internal conflicts, they begin questioning loyalty and destiny, ultimately seeking freedom together.
While neither Guo Junchen nor He Ruixian has commented on the off-screen speculation, many fans hope the duo might share a genuine connection. Sword and Beloved is set to premiere later this year on iQIYI and WeTV, spanning a total of 36 episodes.
