LayarHijau – Chinese actor Yu Menglong was reported dead after falling from a building on September 11th at the age of 37. His mother described the incident as a “drinking accident,” but that statement has not calmed speculation surrounding his death. On Chinese social media, conspiracy theories continue to circulate.
In response, Yu Menglong’s former mentor and agent, Sun Derong, held a memorial and truth-seeking briefing at the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Temple in Xinzhuang on Monday (29/9). The ceremony took place under a light drizzle. Sun sighed, saying, “I can feel that Yu Menglong knows I came here to seek justice for him. Even the rain has come down.”
Sun revealed that he felt there were many obstacles preventing the facts of the case from being presented. “Yu Menglong’s case seems to be blocked at every turn, leaving us with too many mysteries,” he said. He suggested that Yu might have discovered unclear financial dealings within his studio and attempted to collect evidence, which may have led to tragedy.

With grief in his voice, Sun questioned, “Such a good artist, whom I always called an angel of truth, goodness, and beauty, died in such an unclear way. Not a single frame of his death was seen, and just five days later he was hastily cremated. What is being hidden?”
Sun also revealed that Yu appeared in his dreams. For the first time in ten years, he managed to sleep for five full hours. “I have never had such vivid memories from a dream. I think he wants me to do something for him. If he really was beaten to death as rumors claim, I should collect his soul and help him enter the Western Paradise in peace.”
During the event, Sun Derong also shared an audio clip of Yu Menglong calling him “Dad” before his passing. For Sun, that word alone is enough reason to carry out every unfinished task Yu might have left behind. “I must help him without hesitation, so he can become a little angel without worries,” he said.
Sun explained that when he returned to Taiwan years ago, he gave back the contracts of all eight trainees he had mentored, including Yu. Later, when Yu joined Super Boy, Sun initially believed his agency, Tianyu Media, was a trustworthy company. He even lived in the same building as its executives while working in China. However, he is now deeply disappointed. “If I hadn’t chosen him, if I hadn’t trained him for a year and a half, or if he hadn’t joined Super Boy, maybe he would still be happily alive. I feel so guilty.”
Sun stated that he plans to hold a larger Dharma Assembly in the future, inviting fans to join so that Yu Menglong’s love and legacy can continue to live on.
