LayarHijau.com – Chinese actor Tan Jianci, who rose to fame for his role as Xiang Liu in the hit historical drama Lost You Forever (长相思) and has since been dubbed a “costume drama god,” recently faced a troubling encounter at Guangzhou Airport. Upon arrival, he wasn’t just welcomed by regular fans—but also by a horde of sasaengs (obsessive stalker fans) who stormed the VIP passage to get close to him.
The situation quickly spiraled into pushing and dangerous crowding within the VIP zone. In a rare move, Tan bolted at lightning speed toward his escort vehicle, surprising many, as he’s usually known for his calm and composed demeanor. His team immediately formed a human barricade at the exit to block the crowd, preventing further chaos.
Yet even in such a high-stress moment, Tan Jianci showed his warmhearted side. After safely getting into his car, he noticed a group of normal fans waiting outside. He stepped out again from the other side of the car to wave and greet them for about 20 seconds—a short gesture that left a big impression. This stark contrast between his tense escape and gentle fan interaction earned him the nickname “gentle idol who loves his fans.”
Tan Jianci has long been a vocal advocate for healthy fan boundaries. He has previously warned against unsafe fan behavior with statements like: “Taking photos while crossing the road is dangerous,” and “Don’t wait outside in the heavy rain.” He firmly believes that fans and idols should only meet on stage and in front of the camera.
According to a report by World Journal, this wasn’t the first time Tan has encountered sasaeng harassment. In November 2024, his parents were forced to move houses overnight after being targeted by stalkers. In May 2025, he was chased and yelled at during Karen Mok’s concert, and in an extreme incident, a sasaeng broke into his hotel room and lay in his bathtub.
By standing firm against privacy violations while remaining affectionate and considerate to real fans, Tan Jianci continues to win hearts—not just as a talented actor, but as a role model worth admiring.
