Its ranking is nearly on par with the record set by Zhao Lusi’s previous drama that also made it onto Netflix’s global top list.
But that’s not all! Upmedia reported that Zhao Lusi’s earlier drama with Yang Yang, Who Rules the World, snagged the 16th position.
In the global top TV series list on Netflix, all three Chinese dramas featured are Zhao Lusi’s. This has led international fans to praise her, saying that the only one who could beat Zhao Lusi is Zhao Lusi herself.
Even though The Story of Pearl Girl has ended, it’s still super popular in China, racking up over 1.2 billion views in her home country.
International viewers have given it positive feedback, and the drama has topped the Netflix TV series charts in places like Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and more.
Zhao Lusi’s international appeal is well recognized. Reports suggest that whenever one of her dramas airs, Netflix is sure to buy the rights for global distribution. No wonder netizens in China have dubbed her the “Netflix Princess.”
In recent months, Zhao Lusi has also been the talk of the town for filming her two new dramas, Love’s Ambition and Almost Lover.
Her fashion in Almost Lover even trended on social media in the U.S., sparking a lot of buzz back in China today, Saturday, November 30.
