The speculation about their relationship arose after a netizen posted on Weibo, stating that the two had secretly developed feelings for each other while filming the variety show “Ma Hua te Kaixin.” The netizen alleged that Shen, who is 16 years older than Lin, even tried to help her career by recommending her to TV and film producers.
In response to the rumors, Lin’s agency stated that the whole matter was fabricated.
“The internet is not a lawless place. Do not create or spread rumors. Regarding the malicious rumors, insults, and defamation made by some netizens against Ms. Lin Yun, we will continue to gather evidence and will use legal means to protect Ms. Lin Yun’s rights and interests in accordance with the law!” the agency said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Shen responded through his representative, saying, “False. I wish you all a good start and a Happy New Year.”
