A netizen in China later claimed that Ku Xuan tragically died at the hands of one of her top spenders. A top spender is a term for viewers who frequently give gifts to streamers in large amounts.
Reportedly, one of Ku Xuan’s admins confirmed this suspicion. According to the admin, Ku Xuan was still streaming before her death.
The top spender was known to frequently give large gifts. He also sent private messages expressing his desire to date Ku Xuan, but she always rejected him.
Angry, the man somehow managed to obtain Ku Xuan’s address, reportedly from a returned package sent to her.
After Ku Xuan finished her stream, the top spender disguised himself as a delivery courier and managed to enter her home. The two got into an argument, and he ultimately killed her. Police received a report and arrived at the scene at 7:00 PM.
On December 18, the Minhang District Police in Shanghai announced that a criminal case occurred on December 13 at 6:50 PM in a residential area on Yongjie Road, resulting in the death of a woman named Zhu.
On the same day, a 27-year-old male suspect named Xu was arrested by the police. According to his statement, the two parties had a conflict over an economic dispute. The man had come to Shanghai to commit the crime. The case is under further investigation.
Incidents involving female streamers becoming victims of crime are not rare, both in China and in other countries.
For beautiful women, a career as a streamer can be promising, as the predominantly male audience often gives substantial gifts.
However, not everyone has good intentions. It’s crucial to prioritize personal safety, especially protecting personal data like identity and home addresses.
