Originally planned as a web drama, Love’s Ambition quickly turned into a viral sensation thanks to its melodramatic storyline and fast-paced narrative. The story follows a woman who rewrites her destiny through lies. For the first time, Zhao Lusi portrays a scheming antagonist, pretending to be the daughter of a wealthy family in order to marry into another wealthy household. In the very first episode, she confronts her “mother-in-law,” played by Wen Zhengrong. Their dialogue, laced with deception and tension, left viewers exclaiming, “I can hardly breathe.”
The plot unfolds rapidly: a wedding takes place in episode six, while the mystery of the heroine’s true identity begins to unravel in episode eight. Even more startling, the site’s IP address was traced to Sichuan. This caused an uproar among netizens, as Zhao Lusi herself is known to live in Sichuan, fueling speculation that her former management might be secretly reestablishing contact with her.
