When asked about her role model, Shin Youn Ha immediately named Son Ye Jin, her co-star in The Scandal.
She had many scenes with Son Ye Jin and said she often found it hard to believe she was able to watch the veteran actress perform up close.
“Thankfully, I had many scenes with her in this project. Even when I was watching her act right beside me, there were many moments when I still couldn’t believe it,” Shin Youn Ha said.
She has also followed Son Ye Jin’s work for years, including The Classic and Something in the Rain.
“She is truly beautiful in such a kind and graceful way. I haven’t missed any of her works, from The Classic to Something in the Rain. Her projects have been part of every stage of my growth,” she said.
Shin Youn Ha had long wanted to meet Son Ye Jin and was thrilled to finally have the opportunity to work with her.
“I really wanted to meet her at least once, so I was incredibly happy that I got to work with her. I also learned a lot about acting on set. She helped me so much. I was so grateful that I didn’t even know what to do with myself,” she said.
Shin Youn Ha Wants to Keep Challenging Herself
The Scandal gave Shin Youn Ha the courage to take another step forward as an actress. She said the experience left her with a stronger willingness to embrace new challenges.
“When I’m given something new, I’ve started thinking that I should try it first and do my best,” she said.
Shin Youn Ha has now spent around seven years pursuing acting. She acknowledged that there were moments when she doubted herself, but she remains grateful for how far she has come.
“I started this because I simply loved it, and somehow seven years have already passed. There were definitely moments when I doubted myself, but I’m grateful and still can’t quite believe that I seem to have accomplished something,” she said.
Looking ahead, Shin Youn Ha wants to continue working hard, take on new challenges, and build a lasting career as an actress.
“I want to keep acting and continue challenging myself with new things. I want to become an actress who can keep acting for a long time, bring out deep emotions, and convey those emotions convincingly to the audience,” she said.
