LayarHijau – Chinese short-drama actor Zhong Yufei has opened up about a controversial experience he allegedly had while filming a short drama, claiming that a wealthy female investor helped fund the project, took on the female lead role herself and added more than 60 kissing scenes.
According to Zhong Yufei, the drama had only a little over 50 episodes, yet he ended up filming more than 60 kissing scenes with the female lead.

The wealthy investor, who also played the female lead, allegedly insisted on adding numerous intimate scenes to the drama. Zhong Yufei also claimed that one of the kissing scenes went beyond what he was comfortable with, saying his co-star used her tongue and that there was unwanted exchange of saliva during the scene.
Zhong Yufei said he did not dare to object at the time because the woman was both the female lead and a financial backer of the drama. As someone who was still new to the acting industry, he was afraid of offending her and potentially affecting his work.
The short drama was reportedly taken down from its platform only a few days after its release.
As Zhong Yufei’s account began circulating online, the discussion quickly expanded into rumors about his personal life. Some social media users claimed that the actor was being financially supported by a wealthy woman, while another rumor alleged that his manager was actually the female investor involved in the controversy.
On August 7, Zhong Yufei and his manager appeared together in a video to address the rumors.
Zhong Yufei expressed his frustration over how far the speculation had gone.
“I’m really getting angry. Do people really face no consequences for spreading sexual rumors?” he said.
He explained that he had become a trending topic on social media a few days earlier, but said the rumors surrounding the incident had since become increasingly exaggerated.
“Some people are saying that my manager is that ‘wealthy older sister,’ and even that I’m being financially supported by my manager,” Zhong Yufei said.
He added that while he could tolerate marketing accounts cutting and editing his videos out of context, he was shocked to discover screenshots allegedly showing him and his manager on what he described as an unreliable website.
“If those marketing accounts edit clips however they want, that’s one thing. But I even found screenshots of the two of us on a rather shady website. The people in those screenshots aren’t even us,” he said.
Zhong Yufei’s clarification came as speculation about his relationship with the wealthy female investor continued to spread online. He denied the claims that he was being financially supported by his manager or that the woman involved in the filming controversy had a personal relationship with him in the way described by online rumors.
The controversy began with Zhong Yufei’s account of his experience while filming the short drama, particularly his claim that the female investor, who also played the lead role, added an unusually high number of kissing scenes.
What began as a discussion about his experience on set later turned into speculation about his private life, prompting Zhong Yufei to publicly address the rumors alongside his manager.
