After announcing the birth of his first child, the Love’s Ambition (许我耀眼) star has officially returned to work, flying to Italy to film the third season of the variety show Natural High (现在就出发3) alongside fellow celebrities Fan Chengcheng, Johnny Huang (Huang Jingyu), and Shen Teng.
William was greeted by a large crowd of fans at Beijing Airport before his departure. Known for his friendly personality, he stopped to greet them and reminded everyone to stay safe. “Be careful, watch out for the people in front, and mind the luggage carts,” he said with a smile. However, online discussions recently took a heated turn after some netizens compared Love’s Ambition to Charmaine Sheh’s upcoming drama The Queen of News 2 (新聞女王2). One comment claimed that The Queen of News 2 “captures the kind of atmosphere Love’s Ambition aimed for,” prompting the show’s official promotional account to reply, “Not in the same lane (meaning not comparable or not at the same level).” The response was seen as arrogant and disrespectful, sparking backlash on social media. The production team later issued a public apology, announced that the staff member responsible had been reassigned, and promised to strengthen internal oversight.
Meanwhile, well-known CCTV anchor Li Sisi voiced her support for Zhao Lusi, praising her convincing portrayal of a news anchor. Li said Zhao’s ambitious character felt natural and realistic, and that such ambition is a normal part of striving for success.
