Through her Weibo account, Yang Zi reposted Li Xian’s post about the drama and added the caption, “Let’s see if Brother Xian’s life is still like when we first met! Let’s watch!”
Li Xian warmly replied in the comment section, “Thank you! Be careful while filming in the highlands! Hope everything goes smoothly.”
Yang Zi is currently filming her latest drama, Born to Be Alive (also known as The Tree of Life), which is being shot in the high-altitude regions of Tibet. In this project, she stars alongside Zhang Zhehua, with Hu Ge making a guest appearance.
Li Xian and Yang Zi were first paired in the hit drama Go Go Squid!, which catapulted both of their careers. Off-screen, they are known to have a good relationship as they came from the same alma mater.
They reunited as guest stars in the sequel Dt.Appledog’s Time, reprising their roles from Go Go Squid!.
The two also appeared in the film The Red Fox Scholar, starring Li Xian and Chen Linong, though Yang Zi only contributed as a voice actress in that project.
Most recently, they appeared together in the drama Flourished Peony, which aired earlier this year. Its sequel, In the Name of Blossom, is scheduled to premiere this summer, around July or August 2025, on Mango TV and Hunan Satellite TV.
