According to our search on Weibo, this rumor began circulating on November 24. Several Weibo users shared screenshots claiming to show the official page of the drama on Douban. The screenshots featured photos of Dylan Wang and Zhao Lusi, with explanations stating that Dylan Wang would be paired with Zhao Lusi in the show. Such screenshots certainly make the rumor appear more credible.

When we checked the official page of the drama on Douban, we did find a photo of the two together, seemingly taken from the Weibo Vision Conference 2024. However, the crew and cast information only included details about the director and screenwriter. Reactions from netizens on Weibo have been mixed, with some expressing excitement while others remain skeptical.

Last year, Zhao Lusi and Dylan Wang both starred in a Pepsi commercial shot on the beach in Sanya, China. Some people who were present at the filming even sold photos they took, with one shot of Zhao Lusi and Dylan Wang together reportedly selling for as much as 3,000 yuan.

In behind-the-scenes footage, they wore matching blue and white outfits for the advertisement. Their casual looks and youthful charm made many fans eager for a potential collaboration in a new drama. Some fans even dubbed them a couple, giving them the ship name “Si Xin Tao Di.”

According to Upmedia, some investors are optimistic about the chemistry between Zhao Lusi and Dylan Wang and are actively promoting a collaboration between the two. The presence of their photo on the official Douban page for the drama adds weight to these rumors.

Why Not Take the Boat ? is adapted from a novel of the same name by Envy Yu Ke. The story follows Xie Queshan, a suave general who is actually a double agent with multiple identities and tasks. He is skilled in disguise and deception, but after meeting the female lead, Nanyi, Xie Queshan undergoes a transformation, ultimately shedding his disguise to find his true self.

She is clever and resourceful, having faced many life-and-death situations, and ultimately grows into a character capable of taking charge of her own destiny. After falling in love with Xie Queshan, she becomes his strongest support.

As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding the cast for the drama, so we cannot confirm the validity of this rumor. We will have to wait for statements from Zhao Lusi and Dylan Wang regarding these speculations.
