LayarHijau –The controversy over the seating arrangement at the prestigious Weibo Night Gala, held in Beijing on February 5, has concluded after the official organizers issued an apology. This apology followed an open demand for clarification from the studio of top Chinese actress, Yang Mi.
On the evening of February 5, Yang Mi’s studio released a sudden statement directly addressed to the Weibo Night organizers. “So sudden, so shocked, and so helpless, @WeiboNight give us an explanation!” the appeal read.
The incident began on the afternoon of the event when a seating chart of the venue was leaked and circulated among netizens. The chart revealed a significant discrepancy between the planned seating arrangement and the actual seating situation during the event.
This difference immediately sparked a fierce debate on social media. Several netizens accused Yang Mi of triggering a controversy, including claims that she was accused of “changing a male star’s seat.” These accusations quickly placed both Yang Mi and Xiao Zhan at the center of intense public discussion.
Responding to the demands from Yang Mi’s studio, the official Weibo Night Gala account immediately released an apology. They explained that the chaos in the seating arrangement was purely due to a technical error. According to the official statement, the problem stemmed from “a labeling/affixing error made by staff during the re-inspection of the already set-up location.”
The official apology from Weibo Night received a massive response, with the post successfully gathering over 4 million likes.
Despite the brief controversy, Yang Mi and Xiao Zhan remained the main stars of the night. Yang Mi was awarded the prestigious titles of “Weibo QUEEN” and “Weibo Annual Glory Actor,” while Xiao Zhan was named “Weibo KING” during the grand event.
