The apology came shortly after Wu Lei’s side issued a firm response to the circulating accusations.
Earlier, Bai Shanshan had already apologized in a late-night post after facing widespread backlash. However, the explanation she offered at the time only fueled further criticism. Rather than calming the situation, the controversy continued to escalate. In her latest statement, Bai Shanshan once again apologized to all parties involved and asked netizens to stop the online attacks directed at her and her family. She even made an extreme remark, saying that if she was still not forgiven, she would “end her life,” a statement that immediately sparked public concern as well as strong criticism.
In her clarification, Bai Shanshan reiterated that from the beginning she believed the person she was referring to merely shared the same name. She also explained that she tagged Wu Lei using a secondary account because her main account had been hacked, prompting her to question whether the incident had anything to do with him.
Amid the heated discussion, Liu Yinuo—who had previously claimed she was romantically involved with actor Tan Jianci—also weighed in on the situation. She stated that Wu Lei and his team’s decisive response had, indirectly, helped “clear her name” as well. According to Liu Yinuo, if her claims were truly fabricated, Tan Jianci could have taken legal action just as Wu Lei did.
Liu Yinuo further spoke up in the comments section, calling on those spreading defamatory remarks to take responsibility for their words. She revealed that Tan Jianci has never issued any response to her claims, despite her repeated attempts to reach out. As a result, public skepticism remains high, particularly among Tan Jianci’s fans, who continue to question the credibility of Liu Yinuo’s statements.
Recently, Liu Yinuo once again shared screenshots of WeChat transfer records, showing that she and Tan Jianci are still connected as friends on the platform. Even so, the evidence has sparked yet another round of debate rather than putting an end to the controversy.
