Recently, “The Best Thing” aired its final episode, presenting captivating romantic moments. In one scene, Xu Ruohan stays over at Zhang Linghe’s house with the help of her best friend. After taking a shower, the two share a passionate kiss that lasts for two minutes, moving from the bathroom to the bedroom. This scene managed to grab viewers’ attention and warm up the atmosphere across social media.
Following this pivotal moment, Xu Ruohan goes abroad to continue her studies. However, upon her return, Zhang Linghe romantically proposes to her with a handmade honeysuckle ring.
Many netizens jokingly remarked that the proposal had a distinctly traditional Chinese medicine vibe. During their wedding, Zhang Linghe once again professes his love to Xu Ruohan with heartfelt words, saying, “In my heart, you are the most beautiful scenery in the world. Loving you is the best thing I have ever done.” This moment culminates in the couple sharing a kiss and dancing under a rain of flower petals, marking a perfect conclusion to their story.
The director of “The Best Thing,” Che Liangyi, who is the son of veteran Taiwanese actress Chen Shali, has received praise for his bright narrative style and stunning visual presentation. Although this drama is a low-budget idol series, it has emerged as a “dark horse” during its airing period, thanks to its beautiful imagery and warm, romantic plot.
To enhance its appeal, the drama’s finale also introduced a “super-point” option, allowing viewers to pay extra to unlock episodes 22 through 28 at once, skipping straight to the ending.
According to reports from Upmedia, it has been revealed that the production of “The Best Thing” maintained remarkably high standards for visual beauty. A behind-the-scenes source disclosed that the wedding scene in the finale used real flowers without any fake props. The production team worked diligently, spending a total of two days and three nights to prepare the scene. Over 600 catty (360 kilograms) of white rose petals were manually peeled by the staff in just 12 hours. All this effort was dedicated to creating a heartfelt dream wedding, earning praise from netizens for the care and dedication involved.
The success of “The Best Thing” demonstrates a combination of an engaging story, captivating performances, and high-quality production. This drama not only showcases a sweet love story but also piques viewers’ curiosity to continue following the journeys of its characters. Additionally, the topic of “Zhang Linghe and Xu Ruohan’s collaboration” has sparked lively discussions on social media following the release of their wedding photos.
