Not only has she starred in hit dramas, but Lusi has also demonstrated extraordinary commercial value, leading social media trends and driving the beauty product market. Her latest achievements solidify her position as the most influential star of the post-95 generation.

Lusi’s commercial power became clear after she rumored to join a new management team. As the brand ambassador for skincare brand Pechoin, she recorded sensational sales performance. Within less than a month of announcing the partnership, Pechoin sales skyrocketed by 98%, reaching a total of 376 million yuan (52.6 million USD).

Additionally, content featuring Zhao Lusi on Douyin (China’s version of TikTok) has cumulatively surpassed 180 billion views. At 27 years old, she became the fastest post-95 actress to reach this milestone.

These achievements mark a major comeback for Lusi after a challenging period last year. She had previously faced health issues due to heavy workloads and internal conflicts during the filming of the drama Almost Lover (恋人), which eventually led to the crew’s disbandment. On top of that, disputes with her former agency, Galaxy Cool Entertainment, over a long-term contract (reportedly lasting until 2030) had raised concerns that her prime career years could be wasted. Nevertheless, she made a remarkable comeback thanks to the success of her series Love’s Ambition (许我耀眼).

During that difficult period, Zhao Lusi took a strategic step by deleting her Weibo account, which had more than 30 million followers. She revealed the move was necessary because certain parties were deliberately spreading negative rumors (“black materials”) about her to make her a trending topic. Although this reduced her exposure, the decision effectively restored her public image and stopped the spread of harmful rumors.

Douyin data confirms her popularity: her total content traffic now ranks fifth among all Chinese celebrities, trailing only Xiao Zhan, Zhao Liying, Jay Chou (Zhou Jielun), and Yang Zi. Considering Lusi had reduced her workload last year for health recovery, reaching a total of 180 billion views is even more remarkable, reinforcing her status as the post-95 actress with the highest commercial value.
