LayarHijau – A non-celebrity Weibo user under the account name Bai Shanshan has come under public scrutiny after posting a series of statements that dragged Wu Lei’s name into controversy. The posts quickly drew widespread attention and pushed the related topic onto Weibo’s hot search list.
On January 17, the Bai Shanshan account first posted a statement saying, “His bed photos are 10,000 yuan — who wants to buy?” The post later resurfaced on the night of January 18 in a follow-up version. This time, the account directly mentioned Wu Lei, writing that the photos had “only sold for 20,000 yuan so far,” accompanied by a statement with a demanding tone.

As the account did not tag any official profile, the comment section was filled with questions about which Wu Lei was being referred to. Within China’s entertainment industry, there are two public figures with the same name — a well-known actor and a voice actor — which led to confusion among netizens.

The Bai Shanshan account continued to post additional statements afterward. One of the posts questioned what someone was doing on the night of November 20, 2025. This prompted netizens to dig into the account’s posting history.

Netizens discovered that on November 24 last year, Bai Shanshan had posted content suspected to be an outburst directed at a personal partner. In addition, on November 21 last year, posts from other users surfaced hinting that a person named Wu Lei had been in Macau and allegedly visited adult entertainment venues, with implications of special services.

During the same period, Bai Shanshan had also posted remarks criticizing male celebrities, stating that they favor beauty and physiques that are “direct” and visually impactful. The account even expressed a desire to write a list of male celebrities allegedly involved in prostitution-related scandals.

Netizens further uncovered that the account had previously commented on whistleblower Si Xiaodi, including during the controversy involving Fan Chengcheng. In one post, Bai Shanshan claimed to have been in Japan at the same time as the incident being discussed and stated that one day she would compile and publicly release a list of male celebrities.

In other posts that were later deleted, Bai Shanshan claimed that her “financial sponsor” was Wu Lei. Those posts are no longer accessible.

Netizens also dug up images believed to show what the woman behind the Bai Shanshan account looks like. The photos, which circulated alongside the discussion, were widely shared as alleged images of the person making the claims, further fueling online debate.

As the discussion escalated, the topic briefly rose to the number one trending position on Weibo, before dropping to rank 11 later that night. Meanwhile, the official statement released by Wu Lei Studio entered the trending list and reached position eight.

In response to the situation, Wu Lei Studio released an official statement on Weibo. The studio stated that certain internet users had maliciously fabricated and spread false information regarding Wu Lei, and emphasized that all circulating claims were baseless rumors.

Wu Lei Studio also confirmed that lawyers have been engaged to secure evidence related to all false information circulating across platforms, and that all legal avenues will be pursued to hold infringers accountable.
In addition, the studio urged internet users, media outlets, and platforms to immediately delete all false content and cease further dissemination. The studio stressed that any acts of defamation or slander against Wu Lei will be pursued to the end, with no tolerance.
