Since the announcement of his passing, rumors have suggested that his death may be connected to speculation that has been circulating online since July 2025.
Famous paparazzi Detective Xiao Yan first reported the chronology of Yu Menglong’s death. According to the reports, the actor, known for starring in the drama Eternal Love, returned to his room after gathering with friends on the night of September 10 and was found dead the next morning. However, Detective Xiao Yan’s initial posts were later deleted, and the account has remained inactive for an extended period, making it impossible to trace the early information.
Since July 2025, rumors about an artist with over 20 million followers “experiencing something” have circulated online. Now, following Yu Menglong’s death, these rumors have resurfaced, sparking widespread speculation among netizens.
Reports also noted that Yu Menglong’s physical condition before his death included drastic weight loss, sunken cheeks, and suspected bruises, leading to speculation that he may have been under long-term pressure, threats, or control. Additionally, his social media accounts were reportedly taken over by internal staff from Tianyu Media, meaning many posts were not made by the actor himself.
The case also involves allegations regarding the possible involvement of executives at Tianyu Media and several senior artists, fueling speculation about hidden motives and potential long-term planning behind the actor’s death.
As of November 5, 2025, more than 640,000 netizens have signed the “Justice for Yu Menglong” petition, demanding an independent and transparent investigation. However, the police continue to maintain their initial conclusion that Yu Menglong’s death was an accidental fall after intoxication, and they have detained several internet users who spread rumors related to the case, accusing them of “creating and disseminating false information.”
