LayarHijau – According to the latest data from Kuyun Entertainment for Week 43 of 2025, competition among Chinese dramas remains fierce. The top three titles across all platforms—Love’s Ambition, Silent Honor, and Yi Yi Xiang Bei Feng—are running neck and neck, while costume dramas continue to dominate the character popularity rankings.
At the top of the total viewership chart, Love’s Ambition, starring Zhao Lusi and William Chan, remains the most-watched drama even 11 days after its finale. Over the past week, the series recorded 233 million total cross-platform views. On the video-on-demand chart, it also ranked first with 219 million weekly views. Since its release, Love’s Ambition has topped the daily charts 19 times, with an impressive average of over 60 million views per episode during its run—a remarkable achievement for an urban romance series.
In second place is Silent Honor, starring Yu Hewei and Wu Yue, with 232 million weekly views. Although the drama has already concluded, its psychological crime storyline continues to attract audiences, pushing its cumulative total past 1 billion views. Meanwhile, Yi Yi Xiang Bei Feng, starring Jiang Renzi and Lu Nuo, ranked third with 231 million views, maintaining the highest national TV ratings during prime time for several consecutive days.

On-demand rankings show two costume dramas gaining momentum. Love in the Clouds, starring Hou Minghao and Lu Yuxiao, took second place with 212 million weekly views, following Love’s Ambition. The series stands out for its cinematic visuals and strong chemistry between the leads. Meanwhile, Blood River, starring Gong Jun and Peng Xiaoran, earned 149 million weekly views, ranking third and showing a steady upward trend in popularity.

Beyond viewership numbers, the weekly character popularity list was also dominated by historical roles. Cheng Yi, as Wang Quan Fugui in the newly premiered Sword and Beloved, topped the list with a heat score of 17,577. Gong Jun followed closely with 17,507 points for his role as Su Muyu in Blood River, while Hou Minghao ranked third with 16,520 points as Ji Bozai in Love in the Clouds. This strong presence of costume-drama roles highlights the enduring appeal of fantasy and historical genres among Chinese audiences.
With multiple series competing closely and new characters captivating the public, the Chinese drama industry continues to demonstrate its vitality—especially through its timeless mastery of the costume genre.
