LayarHijau – Mystery continues to surround the death of Chinese actor Yu Menglong. Following his fatal fall on September 11, online speculation has spiraled across Chinese social media. One of the most discussed claims alleges that several top executives from his management company, Tianyu Media, have fled overseas after the incident triggered public outrage and a sharp plunge in the stock price of its parent firm, Mango Super Media.
Yu Menglong, who signed with Tianyu Media in 2013, rose to fame through hit dramas such as Eternal Love and The Starry Night, The Starry Sea. However, long before his passing, netizens had circulated claims that he was “sidelined” for three years after rejecting so-called “hidden rules” in the entertainment industry — an allegation never verified or acknowledged by either the actor’s family or the company.
As attention on the case grows, users have begun digging into Tianyu Media’s past, noting a series of untimely deaths involving its former artists over the past two decades. While the pattern has fueled widespread suspicion, no concrete evidence has linked the incidents directly to the agency.
Adding to the swirl of speculation, some online posts allege that Tianyu Media had “foretold” Yu’s death years earlier — supposedly through a cryptic message in 2021 and a black-and-white promotional photo of the actor shared in 2020. Yet, no credible source or verified record of such posts has surfaced.
There are also unverified reports that the company has quietly rebranded itself as Tianyu Digital Technology in the wake of the controversy. As of now, Tianyu Media has issued no public statement addressing the rumors.
Meanwhile, more than 600,000 netizens have signed an online petition titled “Justice for Yu Menglong”, urging a full, independent, and transparent investigation into his death. Chinese authorities, however, have maintained their earlier conclusion that the 35-year-old actor accidentally fell while intoxicated, ruling out any criminal involvement.
While some accept the official version, many remain unconvinced. The case continues to dominate trending lists across Chinese platforms, reflecting growing mistrust in both the entertainment industry and the country’s handling of celebrity deaths.
