LayarHijau – The fantasy drama Blood River, starring Gong Jun and Peng Xiaoran, has achieved remarkable success. Its popularity index on Youku officially surpassed the 10,000 mark—one of the highest records for a Chinese drama this year. To celebrate the milestone, both lead actors marked the occasion in distinctive and eye-catching ways that immediately stirred discussion online.

Gong Jun commemorated the achievement by posting two shirtless photos of himself, revealing his well-toned physique—a sight long admired by his fans. On Weibo, he captioned the post: “Who prepared this 10,000-yuan-level gift? Signed, Gong Jun.” The photos quickly went viral, drawing enthusiastic reactions from viewers and fans alike.

The comment section was flooded with messages of praise and amusement. One user wrote, “Gong Jun’s 10,000-point bonus is truly a treat! Those abs are keeping the fans motivated.” Another commented, “Model male actor! So disciplined in maintaining his body—slim in clothes, strong when shirtless, absolutely ideal.”

Someone else added, “Congratulations to Anhe! Gong Jun confidently showed off the results of his hard work. That face and that body—perfection combined.”

Meanwhile, Peng Xiaoran took a different approach. The 32-year-old actress posted a nine-grid photo set of herself in a bubble-filled bathtub, holding a glass of champagne, along with the caption: “Here’s the nine-grid bathtub photos I promised.” The pictures highlighted her refined Eastern beauty and a graceful, relaxed atmosphere.

Both posts trended on Weibo on Sunday night, October 26, 2025, under the hashtags 彭小苒破万福利九宫格出浴照 (“Peng Xiaoran’s 10K bonus nine-grid bath photos”) and 龚俊破万福利是半裸肌肉照 (“Gong Jun’s 10K bonus half-bare muscle shots”).

Reactions to Peng Xiaoran’s post were equally diverse. Many users praised her for interacting with fans in a classy yet humorous way. “Who would’ve thought Mu Yumo, the strategist behind the purple veil, would also be such a fan favorite?” one netizen wrote. Another commented, “Her photos are stunning—what a perfect blend of softness and confidence.”

Still, some netizens found the posts a bit too daring. “Whether it’s muscle photos or bathtub shots, maybe there are simpler ways to celebrate?” a comment read. Nevertheless, the majority of fans responded positively, appreciating the stars’ dedication and friendly connection with their audience.

Beyond the online buzz, Blood River marks an important turning point for Peng Xiaoran. After the massive success of Goodbye My Princess (东宫) in 2017, her career went through several slow years due to agency changes and limited project opportunities. In recent years, she only appeared as a guest in a few dramas, including Scent of Time, Love in Pavilion, and Fangs of Fortune. Her only notable lead role during that period was Romance of a Twin Flower, co-starring Ding Yuxi two years ago, though the drama received mixed reviews and scored only 5.7 on Douban.

Earlier this year, Peng Xiaoran also appeared in the reality show Sisters Who Make Waves 2025, where edited clips initially portrayed her as difficult to work with. However, fans later clarified that those moments were taken out of context and didn’t reflect the full story.

Now, as Mu Yumo in Blood River, Peng Xiaoran has once again captured the public’s attention. Her character—a mysterious assassin and heir of the powerful Mu family within the shadowy “Blood River” world—has been praised for both depth and charisma. Her iconic look, featuring a purple outfit and a floral forehead ornament, has become one of the most recognizable images in the drama.

The chemistry between Mu Yumo and Tang Lianyue (played by Zhang Shian) has also become a highlight, drawing viewers into an emotional tension that balances love and loyalty without excess.

During a recent livestream, Peng Xiaoran humbly reflected, “The fame I experienced eight years ago came suddenly. But this time, it feels much more genuine.”

With Blood River’s soaring popularity and the stars’ playful yet professional engagement with fans, Gong Jun and Peng Xiaoran have reclaimed their standing as two of China’s most magnetic performers—balancing elegance, dedication, and warmth as they celebrate a new chapter of success.
