LayarHijau– The death of Chinese actor Yu Menglong, who reportedly fell from a building, continues to draw worldwide attention. Although Chinese authorities quickly ruled out criminal involvement and shut down online discussions, growing doubts and outrage persist among netizens and international observers.

Recently, a global petition titled “Justice for Yu Menglong” was launched on the international NGO platform AVAAZ, demanding an independent and transparent investigation into the actor’s death. As of the evening of October 15 (Beijing time), more than 420,000 people from around the world had signed the petition, World Journal reported.

In the statement released by the campaign organizers, they noted the circulation of alleged audio clips online that reportedly capture Yu Menglong’s cries during an assault, stating there is “reasonable suspicion that this was neither an accident nor a suicide.”

The bilingual petition, written in both Chinese and English, emphasizes that Yu Menglong’s case is not just about one celebrity but a broader issue of human rights protection and public safety within China’s entertainment industry. The campaign urges full transparency and accountability for those involved.

“Justice will not come automatically — it must be fought for together,” the organizers wrote on AVAAZ. They also called on international human rights organizations, including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, to step in and monitor the case, pressing Chinese authorities to ensure the safety of entertainers and prevent future cases of workplace violence or sexual abuse.
