LayarHijau – Chinese actor Qiao Renliang, known for his roles in One Night in Supermarket, Legend of Lu Zhen, and Tiny Times: Origami Times, passed away on September 16, 2016, at the age of 28 after battling depression. However, among fans, speculation has long circulated that his death may have been linked to pressure from the entertainment industry and the management company that also represented actor Yu Menglong — an agency later associated with several other tragic artist deaths.
On October 15, 2025, which would have been Qiao’s 38th birthday, his parents shared a touching tribute video, saying: “Qiao Bao, today is your 38th birthday. Mom, Dad, and all your fans who love you dearly are wishing you a happy birthday together.”
In the video, Qiao’s mother reminisced about his childhood while cooking in the kitchen. Out of habit, she made an extra plate of stir-fried tomatoes and eggs — Qiao’s favorite dish as a child. With a soft, trembling voice, she said, “We’ve grown old, but the greatest blessing of our lives was having a son like you. Being your parents… we still haven’t had enough of it.”
To commemorate his birthday, Qiao’s parents and fans gathered at his gravesite, decorating the area with countless pink flowers — his favorite color — and a pink birthday cake. The heartwarming sight stood in bittersweet contrast to their shared grief, Star EBC reported.
In a message to fans, Qiao’s parents expressed their gratitude for the nine years of unwavering support: “Such long-lasting love is rare. Over the years, it’s your presence that helped us endure and move forward. Kimi (Qiao Renliang) has never truly left us; he remains in so many hearts.”
Close friend and TV host Zhu Zhen also attended the memorial, seen embracing Qiao’s father in comfort. Later, he wrote on social media, “To the big boy now flying freely in the pink sky — happy birthday.”
